|
Pelabuhan Indonesia III is a Limited State-Owned Enterprise, with all shares belong to the government of Indonesia. The main task of the corporation is to manage 39 ports in the provinces of Central Java, East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, South Kalimantan, and Central Kalimantan.
Since 1960, Indonesia Ports was nationally managed by State Owned Enterprise based on Government Regulation No. 19, 1960 until 1985. It changed to be public company based on Government Regulation No. 16/1983 and Government Regulation No. 6/1985. In 1992, the form of port company has been changed to be limited corporation with new name PT.(Persero) Pelabuhan Indonesia III. It goes until now.
We highlight some ports as superior ports that directed to handle International trade are: Tanjung Perak, Tanjung Emas, Banjarmasin, Tanjung Intan, Benoa and Tenau/Kupang. Tanjung Perak port and Tanjung Emas port has been enhanced with International container Terminal and soon will be Banjarmasin .
To promote efficiency and corporate performance, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III has enhanced the organization by realeasing some strategic business unit to be subsidiaries and setting up a joint venture corporation related to port activities.
PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III has established some subsidiaries and joint venture company as follows:
1. PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya is directed to do an International container handling
2. PT Portek Indonesia does business in maintenance of cargo handling equipment and other port equipment.
3. PT Rumah Sakit Pelabuhan Surabaya provides facilities for port community health and medical services .
4. PT Aspalindo Tiga is in bulk asphalt business.
5. PT Berlian Jasa Terminal Indonesia is particularly to handling loading/unloading in conventional cargo terminal.

Inbound: Commodities, Rice, Wheat/Rice/pady, Sugar, Soya Bean Mill, Sun Flower Mill, Bone Mill, Pulp and The Likes Salt Pig Iron, Steel Ingots Corn Steel sheets, Barted Wire in Coils, Scrap Iron, Bronze Fertilizer Oil & Gas.
Outbound: Commodities, Roll Paper, HVS Paper, Wire Road, Wire, Pellets (ampas gandum), Dried Tapioca (gaplek), Cocoa, Steel Sheets, Pipes and Tubes, Coconut oil cake ( bungkil ), Cement, Oil & Gas.
