Sustainable Port Development in the ASEAN Region

The project “Sustainable Port Development in the ASEAN Region” is a three-year extension of the completed ASEAN/APA/GTZ project entitled Dangerous Goods in ASEAN Ports.

It started in  August 2009.   As an initial activity, a questionnaire for ports interested to participate in the project was disseminated to Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

As of 15 November 2009,  participating ports identified by the APA member countries are:

·           Sihanoukville and Phnom Penh in Cambodia

·           Tanjung Priok and Tanjung Perak in Indonesia

·           Iloilo and Cagayan de Oro in the Philippines

·           Bangkok and Laem Chabang in Thailand

·           Saigon in Vietnam

The Project is still awaiting the identification of three other APA ports.
